Important Changes To The Money Blog
This is the new URL for The Money Blog: http://www.ask-ken.info If you have reached this via the old ask-ken.info/blog URL then please note that the page will not update. You must now use the new URL that is given above. Why have I made this change? A lot of people thought that the old URL was a sub-domain, when in actual fact it was just a folder. However, it may have had a detrimental effect on my earnings, so I have changed it. |

Google sticks the boot into the money bloggers
Has the money blogging gravy train run off the rails? I ask that because of a very rum do that just happened my way. Latitude, a British based company, wrote to me and asked if I would either add do-follow tags to some of my postings or delete them altogether. They offered me $5.00 for each change that I made, and greedy bastard that I am I still got in touch with Sponsored Reviews, the agency that had given me the work in the first place, to check that everything was fine with them. They replied that they had no objection if I worked with Latitude, and went on to explain that quite a few companies were asking for this to be done. It seems that Google has managed to put the frighteners on an awful lot of outfits, and requests like this are becoming more and more common. Google has managed to dupe people into believing that if they hire money bloggers then it will effect their Page Ranking. It hasn't so far, but that is what companies are afraid of. This probably helps to explain why the sponsored work has now virtually dried up. I put it down to the American recession, but it looks like Google inspired fear also has something to do with it. |

Online Marketing with BannerBlindness.com
There are lots of companies out there that offer you a full range of SEO and link building services. Of course they all charge for the service, including Banner Blindness, a company that I want to look at right now. The difference between Banner Blindness and the rest is the sheer amount of free information that they give away to anyone who visits their site.Let's take online marketing as a case in point. We tend to think of it as being somehow positive and beneficial to a company, but had you ever considered its downside? Take viral video marketing as a case in point: had you ever considered what might happen to your company's image if you had a moronic thug like this one working for you? Especially if someone had a video camera handy and was recording his rants. Viral video marketing can work for or against your image and Banner Blindness will help to ensure that you and your company always put your best face forward. The company specialises on online advertising, and as its name suggests they take the problem of banner blindness very seriously indeed. Put simply, banner blindness means that our brains don't registers the banner adverts that we see on almost all websites these days. BannerBlindness.com can create customised skins just for your company. What's a customised skin? Well, it fits over a well trafficked blog's template just like human skin fits over the human body. If this blog had a skin it would probably fit over both sidebars and be used to advertise a particular product or service. The point about a good skin is that it practises the maxim of less is more. The advert doesn't jump out at the reader, but it is designed in such a way as to hopefully ensure that he will click on it to see what lies behind. Click on the link that I gave you in the paragraph above to learn more. Another area that Banner Blindness specialises in is the world of email marketing. A lot of companies send out e-mail creatives - that is to say a small HTML advert contained in an e-mail message, but many get only a disappointing response. That's because they don't really understand how to put these nifty little packages together. A text link at the top, just in case the recipient cannot read HTML in an e-mail. A strong, unified colour scheme that will catch the eye of those who can, and a strong, visual message that is aimed an encouraging a healthy click through rate. So, if you want to build your on-line marketing, why not click on over to Banner Blindness and see what they have to offer? |

Shall we change this blog's name?
I think that I need to change The Money Blog's name... When I set it up the plan was to basically report on how my life as a money blogger was progressing. Those free postings, I figured, would be enough to keep the sponsored postings' companies happy and they would give me work. The problem is that those sponsored deals have dried up, so I have changed the blog about to attract more readers. Now it is basically a sleazy blog that deals in whatever photo or video takes my fancy - what should the new name be I wonder? I don't have an answer to that question, but would welcome some ideas. |
