Is
a celebrity blog the one for you? If writing long articles isn't your thing,
then a celebrity blog might just be your way to start coining in some easy
money. The downside is that you are probably going to have to get space on a
server to carry all the photos that you will upload to your site. Blogger only
gives you about two megs and that will get eaten up fairly quickly. That doesn't
mean that you can't use blogger, but it does mean that you shouldn't upload your
photos to the blogger server. You should hot-link to them from whichever server
you use.
When you have done that, you should choose a template that has a seriously wide
sidebar - one that will take a full banner. It needs to be at least 300px wide
to take your video feed. That's right, I am suggesting that you have your own
television station!
Go to Voxant Newsroom and sign up.
When you have done that pay a visit to the
entertainment section and pick a feed to go on your sidebar. Now you
know why I suggested that your blog's template needed to be wide, because the
narrowest feed that you can get will be 300p. Put the feed at the top of
your sidebar and set it to auto play. The nice people at Voxant newsroom will
then pay you $4.00 for every thousand plays of that feed. Not only that, but
they update it for you. Just leave it on your sidebar and let it earn you some
money.
Look around the entertainment section and you will find any number of articles
that you can take and use on your site. Not only are they free for you to use,
but you will earn a $1.00 for every thousand views. That means they will earn
you money so long as they stay on the front page of your blog.
However, you want something a little hotter, don't you? Now you are going to
have to do a search on certain keywords such as "celebrity gossip" to bring up
the sites of interest. Look for some photos and download them to your computer.
Now you know why I suggested space on a server of your own, don't you?
Obviously you will check out the main celebrity sites, starting with
Perez Hilton, but don't forget the
gossipy newsletters that you can have sent to your in-box. A lot of Americans
have never heard of Popbitch.com, but it
is a major source of British celebrity gossip.
Now it is really just a case of getting into the habit of finding a photo,
writing a short paragraph to go underneath it, and then posting it to your blog.
You will need to label every post with the name of the celebrity, and you should
also create a celebrity index on your sidebar so that people can click over to
that and see what you have on the celebrity of their choice.
Once your blog is up and running you can load it down with Adsense boxes and make
some money out of that. Obviously you are never going to earn as much as the
gossip blogs that are actually based in Hollywood, but if you choose your
keywords with care, you should have a steady stream of visitors coming to see
what you have on offer today.
So, I suggest that you update this type of blog at least five times a week, and
that you take photos from the web. You should write a short comment under each
one. A video feed can go on the top of a sidebar and stay there as a permanent
fixture.
Good luck with your celebrity blog!
