How do sponsored postings work?
Here's a story about sponsored postings from the Wall Street Journal.

How do sponsored postings work? Basically by playing Google at their own game. They charge an arm and a leg for what they call adwords. Those are search terms that people tap into their search engines. Pay Google enough money and when someone types blue widgets, say, into the little Google box, your Widget Company will come up on page one of the results.

The other way to try and ensure that you come up near the top of the heap is to pay several bloggers, and we can get you the same result, but at a fraction of the cost. Now, if the search term that you want to promote also receives lots of bids on Google, then you are going to need thousands of bloggers to raise your profile. However, if you are using a niche phrase, or one in a language other than English, then I could probably do it for you with very little help.

You don't believe me, I can tell. OK, go to Google, and type "sponsored postings" into the search box. The Money Blog should appear as if by magic on one of the first three pages.

People, today is the 30th August: I only set this blog up on the 24th, and I haven't paid Google a penny!

Yes, I can probably do the same for you - so why not drop me a line?
